Big brother

A quick announcement from Adrian that he's due to be a big brother in early May!

Planes and cars are still much more facinating, but he's gotten accustomed to there being a baby in mummys tummy, rather than a spider which was what he hoped for a while...

The first snow

A few weeks ago we had the first taste of winter. The snow only lasted for about a week but we had some fun while it lasted.

Here's a pic from Fløya, which you can reach by cable car from Tromsø (convenient). Adrian is very fond of the snow and are waiting for it to come back. He doesn't seem to mind all the clothes as much as he did last winther.

Tromsø city, where we live, seen from Fløya. Unfortunately the view of the mountains are blocked by some clouds.

Adrian got wooden rails for his birthday this summer and it is by far his favourite toy these days. He still needs some help putting them together but he is getting better every day. Every day after childcare we put them together, and every day before he goes to sleep we put it back in the box. It is a new design every day, so mummy and daddy are quite skilled at this by now.

Another thing he finds hilarious is clinging to our feet as we walk. Good excercise for us!

In just a couple of weeks we will be entering the dark season, and we won't see the sun for another two months. It might sound horrible to someone who is not used to it, but to us it is just the normal way to spend the christmas holiday. We hope we can post some nice pics of the northern light this winther.

Summer's over

Summer is over, and the first snow is on the ground here up north. Adrian is very curious about this, and don't seem to remember last winter at all. But he is a very happy boy, and gives thumbs up! Especially when there's chocolate around.

A small koala with it's favourite food - strawberry youghurt apparently.

And finally a picture from a nightly trip in full moon with Tromsø in the distance.

Still a happy and relaxed boy.

As you can see Adrian is still quite laidback at times. But believe me, we are struggling with the terrible twos from time to time. Especially when he doesn't get his way... But most of the time he is a happy boy. He has started to talk quite a lot lately, but luckily there is still som quiet moments.

Other stuff:
He doesn't sleep during the day. He stopped doing that a couple of months ago. The staff put him in the pram and he just laid there for 30-60 minutes, never falling asleep, but since he got his dummy he didn't mind at all. (He still loves his dummy, and only get to have it when he is going to sleep.) So, now he gets to stay up with the older kids at childcare.

As for potty training: Forget it! He is just not interrested. And when he doesn't want to, there is no way I can make him. I even bought this fancy little toilet seat with cars and stuff... I guess sooner or later he will get there.

Adrian's summer

Adrian celebrated his second birthday with a big party in the garden. He got a lot of great gifts and hardly had any time left for the photographer.
The weather was great. Here is one of the beautiful beaches in Bø, Vesterålen.
Almost like down under!
One of his favourite activities, getting to drive the boat with grandpa.

Norwegian mountains

The summer is coming to an end, it`s sad, couse it has been truly wonderful. Here are som pics from Norway, taken during some of our hiking trips.

On our way towards Tromtind in Troms, close to where we live.

Adrian and the view from Tromtind.

On our way up the top of Lamlitind in Vesteraalen where Veronika`s parents live.

The top, Lamlitind. We reached the top at 11pm. I wish we had a pic of the midnight sun but unfortunately this was a cloudy day.

More summer

It's actually been so warm that we've had to dip our toes in the sea. Adrian stayed in for half an hour. Note how SOS found a very convenient stone to stand on after 10 seconds in the water. :-)

Out for a little hike, and Adrian wants a stick fight. He found the sticks - and dirstibuted them as he saw fit.

Mmmm....hot chocolate!

But most fun is of course to splash in the puddles along the way!
